The FGT Project.

This personal project is an hommage to Felix Gonzales-Torres, one of my favorite artists for a long time.

He taught me that if the viewer’s perception is the opposite of the artist’s intention, sometimes exactly this can render a deeply personal, almost intimate connection with a piece of art.

For this series, one of his artworks provides the backdrop for portraits in an almost sterile visual setting. No makeup, no clothes, no expression.

The only expression of each portrayed person lies in the eyes and the mind of the recipient. The portrait becomes a canvas for very personal interpretation.

This interpretation is fluid: A person may look arrogant in one moment, insecure in the next. See what your mind can do.
